'Seashore' Landscape Lampshade
Applique Linen Lamp Shade
‘Seashore’ is one of a new collection of lampshades designed and made by me using a collage of beautiful linens and printed fabrics, to create a pictoral effect. This one is evocative of a shore line with blue skies, aqua sea, distant hills, sands and grass fringed dunes.
A 30cm diameter shade is depicted. (A 40cm shade in the final photo)
These seascape shades are best suited to lamps, the lower portion of the shades being darker when illuminated as it emits less light. They make beautiful mood lighting.
I make these shades to a ‘recipe’ of fabrics and measurements, each one will be slightly different with varying printed pattern and fringing etc. Seams will not necessarily match but I will try to create a consistent ‘skyline’.
The seams are slightly bulkier than the norm due to layering of the fabrics, but these are strongly glued (as with all my shades), so you can be sure they will not gape over time.
